If the technology from the Phoebus reactor was applied to a reactor the size of the AP-1000, then the whole of the United States could be powered by 30 reactors. The NERVA was expected to progress to where a 35" diameter by 52" long reactor would produce 4000-MWt. Further development would have pushed it beyond that. This would mean if we applied it a reactor the size of the AP-1000 that we would have a reactor with 120,585 MWt which would create 34,970 MWe.
